The Gonzales Laborshed offers a robust labor population of over 323,000 and growing from Gonzales and 12 neighboring counties. From early education through technical training and colleges, we are committed to developing and training a 21st century workforce ready to meet the needs of today’s industries.
Development Programs
Victoria College - Gonzales Center
Victoria College’s Gonzales Center has day, night, and online classes for students as well as career training programs. The Career & Technical Education Path helps adults graduate with industry-recognized credentials, certificates, and associate degrees. The Gonzales Center also offers GED preparation, English as a Second Language classes, tutoring, financial aid counseling, and career and degree advising services. It is also a testing center for standardized tests such as the GED, ATI TEAS, and TSI exams.

The Gonzales Learning and Career Center, created by the Gonzales Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, is a non-profit focused on helping the community grow by continuing education and preparing people for new opportunities.
Victoria College

Victoria College - Cuero Center
Established in 1982, Victoria College’s Vocational Nursing Program in Cuero gives students an opportunity to pursue a Vocational Nursing Certificate.
Victoria College - Hallettsville Center
The Zelda L. Allen School of Nursing was established in Hallettsville in 1948 and became affiliated with VC in 1984 to provide courses in vocational nursing.
Texas A&M University
Texas A&M University is a public research university founded in 1876 and is the founding member of the Texas A&M University System. The San Antonio campus enrolls 4,564 students and offers 30 degrees.
Texas State Aviation School
Texas State Aviation School serves Central Texas and offers a full range of pilot training, for both private and commercial pilots. The aviation courses are also offered through the Austin Community College Continuing Education.
University of Texas at Austin
The University of Texas at Austin is a public research university in Austin, Texas. It was founded in 1883 and is the flagship institution of the University of Texas System.
University of St Augustine for Health Sciences
The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is a graduate institution that emphasizes health science education. It has campuses in San Marcos, California, St. Augustine, Florida, Miami, Florida and Austin, Texas.
Galen College of Nursing
Galen College of Nursing-San Antonio is part of the Galen College of Nursing, is one of the largest private nursing schools in the United States. The San Antonio campus is a small, private, two-year college enrolling 1,129 students and offering 2 degrees.

The Victoria Campus of the University of Houston offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in four schools: Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education and Human Development, and Nursing both in person and online.
Coastal Bend College
Coastal Bend College is a medium sized, public, two-year college enrolling 4,450 students and offering 75 degrees with campuses in Beeville, Alice, Kingston and Pleasanton.
Wharton County Junior College

Weekend College Our Lady of the Lake
Our Lady of the Lake University is a small, private, four-year university enrolling 3,334 students and offering 74 offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in weekday, evening, weekend and online formats.
Wayland Baptist University – San Antonio

San Antonio Dental Assistant School
San Antonio Dental Assistant School offers courses and seminars for oral hygienists, dental assistants, and orthodontic assistants, as well as success coaching and externships.
Jon Wayne Academy
Jon Wayne Academy is a San Antonio tech school for the HVAC industry, including technicians and, construction specialists, and industrial service maintenance. North American Technical Excellence certification prep courses are offered as well.
Lamson Institute
Lamson Institute teaches career-based programs with day and evening courses and offers certifications in HAVC/R, Technicians, Electricians, Lab Assistants, EKG Technicians, and Phlebotomists, Medical Assistants and Medical Billers/Coders/Office Assistants.
South Texas Vocational Technical Institute
South Texas Vocational Technical Institute-San Antonio is a trade & vocational school enrolling 441 students and offering programs in HVAC, welding, diesel heavy truck repair and maintenance, automotive service technicians, and CDL courses.
